About Oktoberfest Obliteration

Oktoberfest Obliteration was the first event that CrossFit Champions/Matt & Pam Munson ever put on.  At the time, in 2009, there weren’t that many local competitions.  They had participated in judging in Ft. Worth at the 2009 CrossFit Games South West Regionals (this is the group Texas was in that year) and loved it!

The actual theme of Octoberfest came from Chris McC (former trainer) as well as the unique muscled-arm handled beer mug trophy for 1st place, beer glass for 2nd and shot glass for 3rd!

In 2010, the Munsons went back to Ft. Worth for the CrossFit Games South Central Regionals event but this time as head judge (Matt) and volunteer coordinator (Pam).  They followed that event up 3 months later with the same positions for the Texas Throwdown held at the Europa Super Show in Dallas.  2 months later came the second Oktoberfest Obliteration.

OO2 was bigger and better with a more professional feel.  It was the first local competition that had a masters and supermasters divisions.  This was extremely important to the Munsons as the need to compete doesn’t diminish as we age and they felt their event was a unique opportunity to showcase the efforts and abilities of everyone within the CrossFit community.  Here’s the info and video from OO2 Oktoberfest Obliteration 2 page

OO3 is on track to be even bigger than the year before, having sold out the 5 main categories of competitors in less than 2 hours.  It is a chance to showcase the up and coming athletes in the South Central Region while staying true to a core value that CrossFit Champions is so proud of…that the athlete in us is always there, ready and able to compete.

We’re proud to be a part of the CrossFit community.

We appreciate folks wanting to be a part of our event.

Thank you for your support!
